Arbor Research Reports on QIP Demonstration

The Arbor Research study team recently completed its final report on the ESRD Quality Incentive Payment Demonstration (QIP), describing the findings from the five-year study period (2006 through 2010). PDOPPS: DOPPS Expands to Study Peritoneal Dialysis

Arbor Research is pleased to announce the newest addition to the growing DOPPS family, the Peritoneal Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study (PDOPPS). This international study aims to address areas of substantial practice uncertainty and research needs, as identified by the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, as well as other opinion leaders in peritoneal dialysis (PD). Baxter will partially fund PDOPPS, which will enable study planning activities to commence. To fund the study in full, we will seek commitment of other entities, public and private, to support the long-term funding objectives of the PDOPPS program.

Arbor Research will convene two technical expert panels (TEPs) to support the development of new ESRD quality measures. The TEPS will take place in Baltimore, MD on May 1-2, 2012. One TEP will focus on anemia management, the other on hospitalization. Clinical and scientific investigators from both Arbor Research and the University of Michigan will moderate the discussions. This work is being performed as part of the Arbor Research Quality Measure Development and Maintenance contract with CMS.
