BROOKFIELD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEWS

 SPECIAL EDITION

This "special" edition of the Economic Development newsletter is devoted to two major road projects getting underway in Brookfield.  Early construction work has started on the rehabilitation of Capitol Drive, and survey work is underway on the resurfacing of Bluemound Road.

Bluemound Road will be resurfaced from just east of Moorland Road to Interstate 94 at Goerke's Corners.  The road will remain open to traffic during construction, generally with 3 lanes open in each direction during peak day-time hours, and one lane in the evening until 6:00 a.m.  Access to all businesses on Bluemound will be maintained throughout the project, but access points may change while driveways are repaved.  Special signage will alert drivers that all businesses are accessible.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has provided the following notification of bi-weekly project meetings for the Bluemound Road project.

Meetings will be held every second Thursday, beginning March 22, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott, 16865 Bluemound Road, Meeting Room A.  Project updates will be provided and questions answered.

Throughout the Capitol Drive project, traffic will remain open during daytime hours, but between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., traffic will often be reduced to one lane in each direction.
