Marathon Thanks
Jeff Schooley, chair of the Marathon Task Force, thanks the SPC staff and congregation for their hard work and enthusiasm in making this year's marathon weekend events a success. With thirty Shadysiders and their friends running, Jeff proudly reports that they rarely turned a corner throughout the city without finding someone from our congregation encouraging them forward. Yet most important of all, our fundraising efforts for the Haitian recovery were a success. With some funds still coming in, we are poised to make a healthy contribution to the Pittsburgh Presbytery's mission of buying ten solar-powered water filtration systems for Haiti to help combat the severe cholera outbreak. "Your running, cheering, sign-making, orange-cutting, supply-moving, bell-ringing, and clapping were essential to this mission," says Jeff. "Again, thank you and see you next year for Marathon Sunday 2013!"

Photographs from the weekend's festivities -- from the Pep Rally and Pasta Dinner on Friday to the Choral Evensong on Sunday -- have been added to an album on Facebook. Visit it to view and enjoy! Marathon 2012 Run for Haiti Relay
