Choral Evensong with Communion  

  • Worship at 4:00 p.m.  
    The Reverend James W. Tinnemeyer, Jr., preaching
    The Shadyside Chancel Choir conducted by Mark A. Anderson
    Choral Music: "Lighten Our Darkness," by Randall Giles, and
    "Beati Quorum Via," by Charles Stanford.

    Organ Music by Joseph Jongen and Gerald Bales.
  • Fellowship Hour at 5:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall

Note: There will be no Christian Education hour at 9:45 a.m. and no service at 11:00 a.m. Nursery care will be provided during the Choral Evensong service.

  • Pep Rally and Pasta Dinner: Fri., May 4, at 6:00 p.m.
    Cost: $10/plate benefits "Run for Haiti." Read more
  • Cut Oranges: Sat., May 5, at 7:00 p.m. Read more
  • Cheer for Runners: Sun., May 6, in the morning at multiple locations along the Marathon route. Contact Tricia McGough through the church office
  • Be a Supporter: Consider making a contribution to the rebuilding effort by using the designated envelopes in the pews. (Please make checks payable to "Shadyside Presbyterian Church" with "Run for Haiti" in the memo line.)

Cookies for College Students        
The Campus Ministry Mission Action Community (MAC) invites you to provide sweet treats for college students during their final exams. Campus Ministry Cookie BakingPlease join us for baking at the church on Mon., May 7, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. (dinner provided). You also may help deliver the cookies to CMU students by meeting at the church at 8:00 p.m. on the reading day, Wed., May 9. Please label and leave any cookie donations on the designated cart near the kitchen in time for the handout day. For more information, please contact Vicki Potter or Rebecca Verley through the church office.
Pittsburgh Presbytery Night at the Pirates
On Fri., June 22, the Pittsburgh Pirates will play against the Detroit Tigers at 7:05 p.m. Those attending the game will receive a free Pirates T-shirt. A portion of each ticket sold is donated to Presbytery missions. Each ticket costs $20 and must be reserved by May 16 in order to ensure that our group will be seated together. Tickets will be available for pick-up at the church office after June 1; payment is required in order to receive your ticket(s). Please make checks payable to "Shadyside Presbyterian Church" with "Pgh. Presbytery Night" in the memo line. During the pregame ceremony, Presbyterians from all over the city will sing the national anthem. Family and friends who would like to hear the combined choir are encouraged to arrive early and be seated no later than 6:30 p.m. Sign up in the Sharp Atrium by Wed., May 16, or contact Jeff Schooley with questions.
