Grief Support: From Mourning to Joy  

Shadyside's Grief Support Group is an opportunity to walk with others who have suffered loss and to draw upon God's strength. The group will be led by Rev. Lynn Portz and Elder Linda Fisher. Meetings begin Tuesday, September 27, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., and will meet each week for eight sessions. Participants should enter by the Westminster Place door. Guest from Guatemala  

On September 28, Rev. Jorge Santizo of Promised Land Ministries (PLM) will preach at our Wednesday evening Vespers service. In 2009, PLM hosted a mission team from Shadyside Presbyterian Church.  Following Vespers, Rev. Santizo will give a presentation in the Hulme Room highlighting the PLM ministry as we begin to discuss a possible mission trip during the spring of 2013.

Bethlehem Haven  

The Hunger and Homelessness Mission Action Community (MAC) is searching for someone willing to lead our efforts to serve a monthly meal at the Bethlehem Haven women's shelter. If you are interested, please contact Rev. Todd Leach through the church office. 

Pittsburgh East CROP Hunger Walk  

The annual CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, October 9. Walkers will meet at the South Ave. United Methodist Church at 733 South Ave. in Wilkinsburg. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m., with the 6-mile walk through the East End of Pittsburgh starting promptly at 2:00 p.m. Please join us as a walker and/or sponsor to support the work of Church World Service, the East End Cooperative Ministry, and the Wilkinsburg Community Ministry.
