Marathon Sunday
| | "Run 4 Haiti" Relay Team. |
On May 15, members of SPC distributed 1,300 orange slices to Pittsburgh Marathon runners. Several relay teams, including our pastors' "Run 4 Haiti" team (pictured, right, at the finish line) helped raise funds to benefit Haiti relief efforts. (As of Marathon Sunday, donations amounted to a figure in the range of $4,000, although final tabulations are in progress. A final total will be published in the August issue of The Church Mouse.) The Reverend Dr. Andrew Purves preached at our vespers service, and we enjoyed a lovely evening of fellowship during our potluck dinner. We especially thank Tricia McGough and all those who helped to make Marathon Sunday so successful. |
