Our Farmstand will be open regular hours starting May 1 and will offer eggs, pork, and seedlings. Pork and eggs are now available! Checkerberry Farm has a good supply of fresh eggs for $5.00 a dozen at their farm stand at 46 Tar Kiln Road, Orleans. Cape Abilities Farm gets ready for May opening. Although Cape Abilities Farm has been closed since Christmas, there has been plenty of activity there as our farm workers prepare for another season. They've been clearing brush and cleaning out greenhouses, and recently got some much-appreciated help in that department from a group of volunteers from the Holy Cross Club of Cape Cod. Our workers have also been planting seeds at our new greenhouse in Hyannis, and those first seedlings are now healthy plants thriving in our greenhouses at the farm on Route 6A in Dennis. We hope to be picking tomatoes by opening day, May 1, when we'll also be selling lots of flowering plants, herbs and local produce. Mark your calendars and come on down! Cape Abilities is a nonprofit organization that provides jobs, homes, transportation and support for people with disabilities across Cape Cod. Learn more at www.CapeAbilities.org. |
