Scrip is Back It's
time once again to start up the TCGIS Scrip program. Scrip is an easy
way to funnel dollars toward TCGIS while making day-to-day purchases.
Families purchase gift cards for their favorite retailers, and those retailers then donate back a percentage of the sale to TCGIS. Available retailers include gas stations, grocery stores, drug stores, home improvement, electronics, booksellers, restaurants, and many more.
Check out www.shopwithscrip.com for a complete retailer listing.
You may set up an account to order online. Instructions are available here.
After you place your order, you will need to turn in the summary page
along with your check (made out to TCGIS) to the office. This has been
an easy way for the school to make over $1,000 per year. Check it out
& put your everyday shopping dollars to work for the school! Orders
will be due on the first Tuesday of each month (first order due October
5), for delivery the following Wednesday. Feel free to contact our
Scrip Coordinator, Deb Helmel, at debh@siewertcabinet.com with any questions.

School Board Update Lisa Friedman, Board Secretary
The TCGIS Board met
twice this month, both for its regular monthly meeting and for its annual board
retreat. Click here to see some highlights from the business we conducted. Full minutes
of all Board meetings and Board Committee meetings are posted on the school website.
All of your TCGIS Board members are happy to talk to you
about our work on behalf of our school. Eric Hauth-Schmid, our Parent Liaison,
is always available to answer any questions, or to hear any concerns or ideas
you may have. Eric can be reached at eric@neuromodulationaccess.org. |
Target: Take Charge of Education
We recently received a check for $2,139 from
Target. This is a sign of not only
Target's generosity, but of the effort of parents to sign up for the Take
Charge of Education program. Target
commits to give 1% of your purchase to the school of your choice.
You can support the school financially at no
cost to you. Request a Target Red Card
online or at the store and link your card number to our Target *School**# 122860*.
This can be made either at the store or online.
Another free way to support the school is through Office Depot. Mention our
school *ID# 70212624* when you shop at Office Depot for office or school
supplies, and the school will receive 5% credit back to use for free supplies.

Lunch Reminder
Remember, all hot lunches come with milk. The
'milk only' column on the order form is for when you would like an additional milk, or
milk only (no hot lunch) on that day.
Lunch staff is also unable to heat or prepare your kids' food. Keep that in mind when packing bag lunches!

Mime with Herr Goetzman
If your student is interested in taking mime with Herr Goetzman, there
is still time! So far the class size is as small as it gets, but it is
still a lot of fun. Rather than cancel the class, we have decided to
just let people join in late at a reduced price.
We will learn mime basics, performing basics, watch some film clips of
famous mimes and even get into some character development over the next
10 sessions!
Mime class takes place on Thursdays after school, in the 5th grade classroom. Cost WAS $110, now $90.

Let's help the newly planted playground rain garden to grow and prosper. Keeping your children from running and playing in the rain garden during pick-up will help very young and fragile plants from becoming damaged. Thank you! |
