Quote of the Week

Travel & Leisure has named Falmouth's annual fireworks display as one of the 10 best in the country. The patriotic fireworks show is watched by 50,000 people each summer and was chosen because of the musical choreography and the quality of fireworks.

"To be in the top 10 is quite an honor.... When the red rockets are glaring, you really get red rockets."

~ Dutch Drolette, Chair of the Falmouth Fireworks Committee

Falmouth Fine Properties
CCP

Greetings!

Back in the day, when Falmouth Fine Properties was conceived but not yet born, I thought the URL would be www.capecodparadise.com.

I even went so far as to design the logo - see above - and register it. (The photo is one I took during the year I lived on Wings Neck, and is an amazing sunset at the Wings Neck Lighthouse.)

When I was creating the first print ad, I discovered that it lost its impact in black and white, and that lighthouse images are a dime a dozen on Cape Cod. In addition, I decided I preferred to work closer to home and therefore wanted to have "Falmouth" in the name, rather than "Cape Cod".

But today it's truly paradise here. See the tagline above - "Soft air, sweet scents, clear light"? That's today on steroids! I really hope you're all experiencing our Cape Cod paradise.  It's what brought us here in the first place and what inspires us when the days aren't so wonderful.

Enjoy!

Houses That Help

Featured homes this week are those that include an income component. A homeowner can live in a much more expensive place when there is a rental aspect included. You'll be surprised at the variety of homes that offer this:

471 Central Ave

Front House, Back House

471 Central Ave. is a most unusual property. The front house is one of the oldest homes in Menahaunt, and has several bedrooms and baths. It's charming, and the summer rental income is around $40,000. That's a big chunk of change that supports the back house. Built on the footprint of the former barn, the back house is new and simply spectacular! Most of the living space is on the second floor. It faces south and west, has lots of windows on three sides, and overlooks a beautiful rose garden and the calm waters of Bournes Pond which lead directly out to the open ocean. Because it's in historic Menahaunt, owners have the right to join the Menahaunt Yacht Club, a magical place for summer campers young and old to spend the season. The price has come down almost $400,000 and is really well priced now at $899,000.

Here is a legal two-family with a walk-out lower level, currently used as another apartment. In the heart of Woods Hole Village, 32 Buzzards Bay Ave. is on a quiet side street abutting acres of woods, and is a charming turn-of-the-(20th) century classic beach house. Only a half mile from Stoney Beach, you can park the car and zip around on your bike all summer long! With an asking price of $799,000, and with the income potential of two units, this has real possibilities.

In the Heart of Woods Hole

In the Heart
of Woods Hole

3/10 of a mile to Surf Drive and a half mile to Main Street, 156 Beebe Acres Road is ideally located. With lots of recent renovations, an in-law apartment, and asking only $569,900, this is the needle in the haystack. Take a look!

1 Russell Road

Falmouth Heights

1 Russell Road - It's Falmouth Heights; it's 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and 1,098 sq.ft; it's only $249,000; and it really just needs a freshening up. This is an amazing price for this location. Take a look!

159 Nursery Road

Falmouth Center

159 Nursery Road - This one is in Falmouth Center and is absolutely adorable! Currently 2 bedrooms, it could easily be 3, and has a partially finished lower level that gives you some elbow room. I love the location, love the house, and love the price of only $314,900

Falmouth Famous on the Fourth

Rated among the top 10 Fourth of July fireworks displays in the country by Travel and Leisure magazine, this celebration is not to be missed. In fact, 50,000 people show up to watch it.

The pyrotechnics are synchronized with the appropriate music, and it is festive, patriotic, and wonderful. The display is totally supported by individual and business donations, so if you get a chance, please help. The Falmouth Fireworks Facebook page lists places and dates for donations and t-shirt purchases.

Please join us and the 49,999 other people at Falmouth Heights or Bristol Beach to experience the Fourth of July in our own little corner of Cape Cod Paradise.
Happy Fourth, and let freedom ring!!
