Nadine's Pick of the Week
| | What a charmer! |
Located at 180 North Road in Wings Neck (Bourne), this home is just - what? The cliches don't do it justice; special, sensational, unbelievable.... There isn't a word I can find to describe this, so please just keep reading.
If you read The Big House by George Colt, this is a neighbor of that house, and similar to his description: an old-time, classic, rambling family "cottage". Whether it's renewed or rebuilt, the site alone encourages lifelong memories.
The setting is that rarity with:
- Acreage (7.4, possibly subdivideable)
- Ocean frontage (470 ft. on the warm, clear waters of Buzzards Bay)
- West-facing views and sunsets
- Pedigree (Wings Neck Trust and architected by J.
Harleston Parker in 1906 for Robert Saltonstall).
There's also a guest house. The main house has 9 bedrooms and 4 baths, and is 6364 square feet. Yes, it needs work, just about everything you could think of; and probably many would consider this a tear-down. But it's just been reduced $900,000(!) to $3,400,000. Someone is going to realize that a site like this is close to impossible to find, and it should be one of you, my folks who are discerning and selective!
I can provide comps that demonstrate the value of whatever project would be undertaken here, and also the value of this parcel as presently priced. It seems silly to say that something at $3,400,000 is a bargain, but this actually is. So take a look at the photos - however, in all honesty, the photos make the house look better than it is. But on the other hand, they don't capture the magic of the site.
Please forward this to anyone you know who has the vision to create a new legacy here, and call me or email to make an appointment to see it. I promise, there is no "real estate broker hyperbole" in here; this is a grand estate in a remarkable setting!

Old Silver Beach Prizes
Many of you probably have wonderful memories of days spent on the sand and in the water of Old Silver Beach in West Falmouth.
If you haven't been back for a while, it's as good as it ever was. My grandkids, who can go to any beach in Falmouth including some private ones, chant "Old Silver Beach, Old Silver Beach" until we adults agree that it is the best, and yes, we'll spend every day there if they want. We do, and we're happy!
So here are two terrific homes within a half mile of OSB.
| | Home in immaculate condition |
The first is 28 Cliffwood Lane, $469,000, a 3-bedroom, 2-bath ranch, 1600 sq ft., lightly lived-in and in great shape, and backing up to undeveloped woods.
The second is 76 Dale Drive, a 3-bedroom, 3-bath ranch with
| | Exceptional contemporary ranch |
1861 sq ft. on the first floor but with a fully-finished lower level not included in this square footage. This house is also in wonderful condition and updated in great taste - something we don't see often enough. It sits high above the tidal waters and marsh that feed into OSB. It's lovely, peaceful, and private.
Take a look here online, and call me to see in person!
