Emergency Foster Needed for Pregnant Mommy

PDP needs a foster family asap for a very friendly and very pregnant blue-nosed pitbull on Waimanalo Beach. The homeless family that has been caring for her (it is not their dog) is not able to provide the additional care for newborn puppies. It is also dangerous for the mommy and puppies to stay on the beach because of risk for parvo infection.

The mommy is being removed this evening and will be temporarily boarded at a veterinary clinic in Ewa Beach but the stress of the move to a kennel may complicate her delivery. We would prefer that she be placed with a family that can provide her and her puppies with some much needed TLC.

Fostering will likely be 8 to 10 weeks or until the puppies can be sterilized and placed up for adoption. We would prefer not to send the mommy back to the Waimanalo beach camp and hope that someone will adopt her, too.

If you are able to foster, please contact Alicia at alicia@poidogsandpopoki.org
