PDP Newest Recipient of
Aloha Aina Collections

PDP is proud to be a recipient of Aloha Aina's recycling drives hosted by Schnitzer Steel Hawaii. The community-based initiative happily collects used towels, sheets, and pet supplies for Oahu animals. We also look forward to expanding our efforts to collect pet food donations especially during the holiday season. Look for an Aloha Aina drive in your community and give to our less fortunate pets and their people. The next Aloha Aina will be hosted at Kapolei High School on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information about how you can participate, go to www.hawaiimetalrecycling.com.
Kapolei High School Students Reach out to Makakilo Pet Owners

KHS students
PDP was proud to host students from Kapolei High School on an outreach project in lower Makakilo. After putting together cat and dog goody bags, the students canvassed more than 200 homes passing out the goody bags, speaking to pet owners about the importance of spay and neuter, offering onsite microchip identification and flea treatment, and documenting the number of pets and families visited. Licensed veterinarian, Dr. Hollis Stewart, accompanied the students on the canvas to provide on-site health assessments.  As a result of the outreach, PDP will be working with an elderly homeowner and her ohana to conduct Trap-Neuter-Return-Manage on her property. TNRM is the humane and compassionate response to managing feral cats.
Third Annual Golf Tournament
Raises Almost $20,000

PDP golf teamMahalo to all the players, sponsors and volunteers for their support of the annual Poi Dog, Popoki and the 19th Puka golf tournament. Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day at Hoakalei Country Club in Ewa Beach and helped raise almost $20,000 to support PDP's mission.  Grand prizes this year included 50,000 Hawaiian Miles, a 42" Flat Screen television, a Gary Reed original, a Pebble Beach Gift Pack, and golf and lunch for four at Hoakalei Country Club. Golfers finished in under 5 hours - a tournament best!
