Jasper, rescued from Nanakuli and just adopted!
Aloha Pet Ohana,

We've had a very busy summer spaying and neutering a number of pets of families struggling during these tough economic times.

Pet overpopulation continues to be one of our greatest challenges since many families cannot afford medical care or the cost of spay/neuter. In one family alone, PDP sterilized 22 adult dogs and removed 32 puppies from the property. We were also happy to help a family (and former recipient of PDP kokua) that pulled 3 newborn puppies out from under a broken down bus after the Sharpei mommy gave birth. PDP sterilized the mommy and placed the puppies with foster volunteers. The puppies have since been adopted and the mommy now lives with her rescue ohana.

PDP also completed its first cattery build for a Kaneohe family caring for 50+ cats.  The "purrfect" fencing option allows cats to continue to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle while keeping them safe on the property - free from cruel neighbors, hunting dogs, and other dangerous elements.

All pets assisted by PDP are sterilized and microchipped. In addition, PDP has disseminated more than 20,000 pounds of food to families to ensure that their pets don't go hungry.

Our mission is not one of the traditional "rescue" organization. But rescuing the family - and helping pet owners - means a healthier and happier home for the pet....and a better quality of life for everyone.

Mahalo for your continued support.
