Earth Medicine Alliance             Honoring Spirits of Place            October 2011

Greetings!

This is the final call for our second annual conference, Honoring Spirits of Place this Oct 22-23rd in San Francisco. Our full conference program details the offerings of nearly 20 amazing earth-honoring presenters from diverse walks of life.

I want to emphasize how amazing not just the presenters but also the conference attendees are at this event. The community spirit is really heart-centered, supportive, and focused on learning from one another while tending together to the larger web of relations.  It's a good place to be.

If you have not yet registered, the cost for both full days is $75 and online registration is available (
click here to register). There is still work trade available if needed, just let us know.

I've also included in this message a list of ways that anyone can help make the conference a success, including a sample letter that you could share with your networks.

Hope to see you this weekend!

With heart,

Daniel

Sample Letter for Sharing About the Conference

Dear _________,

Greetings!  I'm writing to share with you about an upcoming conference that I thought you might want to know about.  The focus is Honoring Spirits of Place, and it's the second annual conference of the Earth Medicine Alliance this Oct 22-23rd in San Francisco.  Here is the description from the organization:

"Spirits of place are our closest neighbors in the larger web of relations, those whom we most impact and are most impacted by. In addition to our human kin, they include animal and plant relations, mountains and rivers, ancestors of the land, the elders who bring rain and storms, stone people, elementals, local deities, nature spirits, and other strange old powers whose bodies we perceive as the natural world.

We invite you to join nearly 20 ceremonial leaders and teachers of diverse backgrounds for a full weekend of embodied learning, interfaith dialogue, and co-creative ritual focused on this theme of honoring spirits of place.

On Saturday we'll gather from 9:30am to 6:00pm at the Unitarian Center in San Francisco and on Sunday we'll circle at one of four locations on the land in and around the City (San Bruno Mountain, Baker Beach, Kirby Cove, and Oakland Shoreline) for inclusive, earth-honoring rituals led by our conference presenters. For our full conference program including presenter bios and descriptions of day two circles see: www.earthmedicine.org/2011_EMA_Conference_Program.pdf.

Registration is $75. To register see: www.brownpapertickets.com/event/183067 or you can pay at the door. We hope you can join us!"

I'm excited to be attending and especially looking forward to _________.   If the cost is a concern, there are some work trade opportunities on the day of the conference.

I hope it works out for you to attend.  Thanks!

Sincerely,

Interview with Daniel Foor

Founder of the Earth Medicine Alliance

This is our eighth interview through the Voices of the Earth Project!  I enjoyed the conversation with project director Elaine Gast-Fawcett and cheers to cameraman and tech wizard Victor Ibarra. I'm happy about what our team has done so far with the Voices project.

I'm grateful for the chance to share in this context about earth-honoring ways of life. Most of my work with earth spirit ways is through my personal practice at: www.ancestralmedicine.org.To check out the recent interview on Youtube click here.
