Important Accelerated Reader News
Renaissance Place is the company that hosts our Accelerated Reader (AR) software. Since we moved to the online program several years ago, students have been able to take AR quizzes/tests at home from any computer connected to the Internet. However, Renaissance Place has changed their site license, and now we are no longer permitted to take AR quizzes/tests from home. In order to be compliant with this site license, there will no longer be an AR link provided on the Northland website. Students will take tests from school computers only. We understand that this will be a big change for some families. We would like to assure you that we will give students ample opportunities to take their AR quizzes/tests during the school day.
To aid in this transition, the AR site will remain open for home use through the Thanksgiving holidays. The link has already been removed from our website, but the address is https://hosted152.renlearn.com/230756/.
Please continue to use the Home Connect site to monitor your child's progress in the AR program. After logging in with your child's AR username and password, you can see how they have done on previous tests, check their progress towards their AR goal, and sign up for email alerts when your child has taken a test at school. This program is a wonderful way for you to stay connected to your child's reading. The link to Home Connect remains on the NCS website (Parent Corner - AR Tests - Monitor your child's progress on AR), or you can visit https://hosted152.renlearn.com/230756/HomeConnect/Login.aspx.
