Spiritual Life Theme for 2010-11
| "Whatever
you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not
for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the
Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
| Colossians 3:23-24

7th Grade Pre-Algebra "Catering with Class" Project
Students
formed "catering companies." Each
group developed a name, menu and prices for catering an event such as the
annual sports banquet. Each
student chose one menu item and found a recipe. The recipes were then converted to feed 250 people. Each student also determined the cost
of making their recipe. This cost
was used by the group to decide on the price per person to charge for their
menu.
Each
group brought a sample of their recipe and decorated a space to complement
their menu. We had fun enjoying
the food and using fractions in a real life application! Students and faculty judged the food developed by the "catering companies".

Secondary Campus Blood Drive
N orthland Christian Student Council is hosting our bi-annual blood drive on Wednesday, October 20 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. In addition to including students, faculty and staff, parents are encouraged to donate blood. This is a great way to get involved in the community and help save many lives--each donation can save up to 3 lives.
Parents will receive first priority on time slots and we will do all we
can to work with their busy schedules! This year there is an added incentive! The grade with the most amount of parental participation will receive a jeans day. Please come out and help Northland and
your child's grade! If you are interested in donating, email Elizabeth Byrne and be sure to include: - your name - the time you prefer - the grade that your student is in - a contact number NCS Student Council
