Greetings!

One of my favorite monthly meetings is the Civic Amenities Committee meeting at the Sacramento Metro Chamber's office.  I hope you will join us for a presentation of our work at the Metro Chamber's June 8th State of the Region event. Please mark your calendars (and register).  The event is at 11:30am at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento (1209 L St).  This year's State of the Region forum will focus on the wide range of benefits that civic amenities currently have--and the future possibilities--in the Sacramento region's economic landscape and the pivotal contribution that arts, culture, and place-based amenities can provide in the Next Economy.  Current work from the committee will be shared and organizers will be presenting a summary of the Americans for the Arts economic impact data.

I was very excited by the great turnout at Saturday's board development workshop with Kay Sprinkel Grace.  The workshop is part of our Where's The Money series and there's only two more workshops this year!  The next workshop is called, "It's Not About You....It's About Them".  Led by Marcy Cady, this workshop is for arts organization staff and board who are interested in fundraising techniques and how to use the values that motivate arts donors.  I hope you'll attend.

Warm regards,

Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director
