Greetings!
Last week's SMAC. OPEN DAILY event, 4 days of workshops and presentations featuring our core programs, was a resounding success. We had over 425 people attend events at KVIE, the Crest, City Hall and the Crocker! We received very generous and supportive feedback. Many thanks to everyone--the presenters, attendants, sponsors and friends--for making it a success.
For me, it was personally very fulfilling to see and hear from you directly about how our work makes a difference in the community. It truly is an honor to do this work and we are excited about the full spring lineup of programs we have prepared for you.
As of today, we open our Microgrants program, our Poet Laureate program, and our new and improved Arts Education Directory.
Later this week we will send out a schedule for the Spring workshops we will be offering as Where's the Money continues with workshops on how to use social media for fundraising, board development, capacity building and the new 'elephant in the room' series. We will also open another round of the Arts Innovation Fund, a grant award program we do in concert with the SRCF. Our District Arts Program awards will be given out in late May. Our Arts Loan Fund and Organizational Development programs continue. In June, we will have a Journalists Roundtable responding to new research on the economic impact and creative vitality of the arts.
Onward,
Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission |
