Greetings!
We at the Arts Commission are lucky enough to have cause for gratitude each and every day. People receive our services and support with a lot of appreciation. We also are lucky to be able to be generous each and every day, which is a guiding principle of our mission and vision.
Arts and culture organizations have so much in common with social service groups and are fueled by the same passion and commitment and care. A pleasant surprise of our recent move to Richards Blvd was finding out that our office is located around the corner from the Union Gospel Mission, an organization I have been supporting each Thanksgiving for the 14 years I have lived in Sacramento. This morning I dropped in to hand deliver my check and was greeted by a friendly group of volunteers and staff, who are busy preparing for Thursday while still providing their regular programs regarding shelter, support groups, and medical care, while still fundraising and marketing. Sound familiar?
All of us in the nonprofit sector rely on the generosity and gratitude of supporters. I hope you will take this time to support our work with kids and the underserved by making a donation to Friends of the Arts Commission. I also hope you will support efforts to keep the tax deductible for your donations in tact by clicking here.
I want to wish you a very warm, happy and loving holiday season.
Warm regards,
Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director
Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission
P.S. Please note: The Arts Commission office will be closed 11/24 & 11/25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
