SMAC UpdateMay 16, 2011

URGENT! Your voice matters!

Greetings!

Please show your support by coming to the Council Chambers at 2pm tomorrow, Tuesday May 17th! Show your support by sitting with the SMAC tribe, wearing one of our buttons, and consider speaking in support of SMAC and the need for public funding of the arts.

As you know, over the last three fiscal years, SMAC's budget has been reduced by 62% and faces further cuts in the coming year. We need your help to let our elected officials know the value and importance of SMAC's support to your organization and the impact of the arts on our community. Last year $150,000.00 was restored to our budget as a result of public support.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Please take the time to sign your name to the petition to support SMAC and then forward the petition link to your supporters and everyone you know in the arts community. (Please sign between now and June 7th).

And, join us at the Council Chambers at 2pm tomorrow, as mentioned above!

Thank you,

Carlin Naify

Chair, Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission
