| SMAC Update | April 11, 2011 |
Greetings!
As we prepare to leave our home of 10 years (more about that next week!), I wanted to let you know that we have quite a few grant opportunities open right now that I hope will be beneficial to you.
There are currently three opportunities available for nonprofit arts organizations: the Cultural Arts Awards grant provides general operating support (deadline is June 9th), and the ongoing Arts Loan Fund provides an opportunity to borrow up to $50,000 in loans at an interest rate of 1% below prime, and the ongoing Organizational Development program offers limited scholarships for workshops at the Nonprofit Resource Center. (The fourth opportunity just closed last week; our Arts Innovation Fund with Sac. Region Community Foundation.)
Microgrants are open to individual artists and arts groups for small arts projects and artist residencies. The deadline for Microgrants is April 26th, so make sure you get your application submitted in time.
I urge you to regularly look at our Arts Resource page where we list grant opportunities outside of what SMAC offers.
I sincerely hope these resources prove to be beneficial to you.
Warm regards,
Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission
