| SMAC Update | March 28, 2011 |
|
Greetings!
Thanks to our 150 attendees, and all of our presenters and sponsors, for a wonderful Where's the Money? Symposium last week. It was a great day and you will see more of these types of symposiums from us as we move forward. If you are interested, we have posted onto our website the contents of Kay Sprinkel Grace's two sessions, which focused heavily on creating a new vision for fundraising and board development, along with other presentations. Download them here.
I hope you will scroll down and see that we have open several grant programs right now! Cultural Arts Awards for nonprofit arts organizations, Microgrants for small art projects and artist residencies, and in concert with the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, the Arts Innovation Fund to reward arts organizations for innovative ways to survive the economic downturn.
Finally, I am very pleased to announce the grand opening of our new loan program. As a member of Northern California's Grantmakers for the Arts, nonprofit arts organizations are now able to request up to $50,000 in loans through the Arts Loan Fund.
I sincerely hope these resources will be of benefit to our arts community.
Onward!
Warm regards,
Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission
P.S. Please note, the SMAC Office is closed on Monday, March 28, 2011.
