| SMAC Update | March 14, 2011 |
|
Greetings!
A recent article in Forbes cited several different studies that show a migration occurring from big cities with lots of urban hip and cool amenities like New York, to smaller cities that have amenities, are still hip and cool but are a lot less expensive. Sacramento should benefit from this trend, with our strong arts offerings, energetic restaurant scene, and a growing urban core.
Please find below many opportunities for artists and arts groups to apply for funding, public art opportunities, attend lectures and technical assistance workshops. March brings us the opening of our Cultural Arts Award programs, Arts Innovation Fund, and Microgrants (limited)! We are very happy to offer these programs to you.
We are all filled up for our Where's the Money? Symposium. If you are registered and will no longer be able to make it, please email yostapenko@cityofsacramento.org and let us know by Wednesday, March 16th at Noon, so that we may accommodate the people on our wait list.
Warm regards,
Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission |
