Greetings!
As we are finalizing the plans for our Where's the Money Symposium preparations, I would like to announce an additional workshop. Due to the large number of visual artists that have registered, we are now able to offer a new workshop during the breakout session: How to Become a Public Artist workshop, with SMAC's Art in Public Places Director Shelly Willis. SMAC's Arts Education Coordinator Erika Kraft and Grants Coordinator Anja Aulenbacher will also be present during the workshop and the day to talk to you about upcoming opportunities. For a full agenda please visit our website.
Registration has reached capacity. However, we will be confirming registrations over the next week, so if you have not yet registered and wish to, you can be placed on the wait list. We will let those on the wait list know if spaces open.
In these times of relentless uncertainty, one thing I know for sure is that the arts will continue. People will never stop creating, although their delivery venues may change. I wanted to share with you a recent study released by the NEA which sheds a hopeful light on participation in a broader definition of arts and culture. I encourage you to read the full article and take a look at the findings.
Warm regards,
Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission
