SMAC UpdateJanuary 3, 2011
Greetings!

Happy New Year!

Over the next several months SMAC will be very busy on many fronts:

  • In Arts Education, our Community Arts Partnership, Creative Aging, and the Any Given Child programs all start up their implementation phases.
  • In Grants & Cultural Programs, we are opening a new cycle of our flagship grant program for nonprofit arts organizations, Cultural Arts Awards; and our Poet Laureate continues to provide great literary programs for the community.
  • In Art in Public Places, we will begin installation on some of our exciting public art works for the new terminal at the Airport.
  • In Marketing and Outreach, our online calendar (Sacramento365.com) is unveiling new services next month and our Arts.Open Daily. public service campaign is gearing up for its Spring flight.
  • We expect to finalize new Governance documents for the Commission, an initiative that we have been working on for over two years.
  • Our commissioners and nonprofit arm, Friends of SMAC, are busy working on Fundraising and Advocacy plans.

This is the year!

Wishing all the best to you,

with warm thanks for your support,

Rhyena Halpern, Executive Director
