"GOOD DESIGN IS FOREVER" says Belina Brunschwig - This is so true in our environment of constant change. What catches your attention? How about a classic designed light pole on a new bridge instead of a poured concrete pole. Classic design in accessories reflects back on past years and even centuries. Fabrics reflect fabulous colors, patterns and textures going back to the 1700 and 1800's. What emotions come forth when you see a classic, comfortable wing chair virtually unchanged over 200 years? Colors change and are either grayed or whitened but the basics continue to evoke the same reactions today as well as tomorrow. Look around you - enjoy the new sense of good design.

Holiday Planning at Your Fingertips
Some survival hints for the next few weeks.
- Keep a supply of cheeses, crackers and desserts on hand for drop-by visitors
- Put together a quick treat from your supply of wine, mixed nuts, great
cookies, cocoas or teas presented with flourish on holiday plates/napkins -- add a dash of color with green wine glasses or holiday cups and saucers. A holiday presentation of cocoa and cookies will lighten all children's hearts. - Use fragrant tea lights floating in a large bowl of water to add a bit of drama to a small or large table for a celebration.
- For great impact buy in multiples - various sizes and shapes of candles, flowers, potted plants and especially some Christmas cactus or pink, red and white cyclamen plants to scatter around
 - Find all your favorite recipes that you might like to make---jot them down on a card, computer, tablet or phone where you can easily find them when you are in panic mode. Also review and stock with as many general ingredients as possible.

An Argument For Small Tables
If your living room is prone to clutter, small tables can help solve the problem. Small surfaces force you to edit down to a few choice items on a table top. No room left for other things.
-- Pushing two small square tables together can create a coffee table but provide flexibility when floor space is needed when they can be separated and used elsewhere.
-- Two square ottomans serve an equal purpose and provides a table surface or extra seating during a party.
--If your room has an awkward corner or an empty spot, a small table can be tucked in and topped with a special or unusual accessory.
-- In a small bedroom that table can be put on one side of the bed and tucked in the corner where it serves as a place for a lamp and/or a book.
-- That table placed between two pull-up chairs helps to pull together a cozy and comfortable seating arrangement in any room.
