Is It Time For A New Mattress?
We wonder if that elusive "good nights sleep" is due to an uncomfortable mattress but we tend to put it aside for more important everyday matters. Recently a bedding editor from Furniture Today came out with some guidelines which might help. Do you wake up tired? Is your mattress more than 8 years old? Today's mattress manufacturers are adding new technologies, new types of construction, foams etc. which makes it more confusing than ever to shop for a mattress.
What can you do?
You can talk to friends, consider testing sites at your local furniture/mattress stores or go to manufacturers' websites to obtain more information on which one may be right for you. See the link below for some tips:

Also, clean painted walls with white vinegar to kill mildew, (This Old House Sept. 2010)

Reclaimed wood.....We saw it first in flooring---taking up old floors and reusing them. Long planks can be cut and redesigned into new floor patterns or just restained. Reclaimed wood is also reappearing as furniture. Old planks are refashioned into new pieces and designs. In the past we may have repainted a piece, but now the wood is stripped and refinished to bring it back to its original beauty. |
