40th Register Today for SOCM's Annual Membership Meeting and 40th Anniversary Celebration

 

You may have heard that SOCM is now in its 40th year. To celebrate this outstanding achievement, we're having a birthday party for ourselves on the afternoon of October 20, 2012 at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tenn. We hope you can join us!

 

Please register today for the Annual Membership Meeting and 40th Anniversary Celebration.  Although the afternoon Celebration is open to the public, you must be a member to attend the SOCM Annual Membership Meeting. Whether you're coming to the Membership Meeting, the Anniversary Celebration, or both, please register here!

 

Annual Membership Meeting Draft Agenda

9:30 a.m.- Registration for Annual Membership Meeting, Light breakfast

10 a.m. - Welcome and Opening of Annual Meeting, Vote on Board Members

10:15 a.m. - Ice-breaker presented by SOCM's Anti-Racism Transformation Team

10:45 a.m. - Priority-Setting Process, Vote on 2013 Priorities

12:30 p.m. - Election Results and Close of Business

 

40th Anniversary Celebration Draft Agenda

1 p.m. - Buffet lunch with music by Kelle Jolly

2:30 p.m. - Keynote Speaker Sandra Goss, Executive Director of Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning, annual tug-of-war competition

4:30 p.m. - Break, Snacks

5 p.m. - Live Music in America presented by Carissia and Company

6 p.m. - Launch 40th Anniversary Campaign

6:30 p.m. - Heavy hors d'oeuvres, music by Warren Gently, and dancing

 

 Activities throughout the afternoon include:

  • Storytelling with founding member J.W. Bradley and others
  • "Create your own Timeline" and "Photo Captioning"
  • Silent Auction
  • Displays from Chapters and Committees
  • Live music from THREE different bands

Tennessee is eligible to receive an allotment of at least 28 million dollars in the form of Qualified Energy Conservation Bonds (QECBs), which are funds allocated to finance qualified energy conservation projects in the state. Tell Governor Haslam we want this money put to good use!
