Dear SOCM members and supporters,    

 

SOCM's Annual Membership Meeting is just around the corner and we're getting plans in order.  Did you know that SOCM pays for food and lodging for all SOCM members who attend?  We'll even pay for gas if you can't afford to get there.  What's important is that as many SOCM members come as possible.  The Annual Meeting is a time when we vote in new officers to the Board, discuss goals for the upcoming year, and reconnect with our fellow members throughout the state.  Get your registration in early because space is tight this year.  We hope to see you there!

Flying across TN with Hippie Jack

 

Many of you have heard about the Americana roots music festival Jammin' at Hippie Jack's that takes place each year on the farm of Hippie Jack Stoddart in Crawford, Tennessee (100 miles east of Nashville).

Well Hippie Jack, joined by musician Jay Clark, came down off the farm to take an aerial tour of the devastating impact of mountaintop removal with SOCM organizer Ann League.

View the video they took on last week's flyover and get involved. To stop mountaintop removal, we must continue to speak out until our representatives on Capitol Hill hear us.
