Goal-Setting wraps up as Zombies invade Knoxville
Join us at the TVA Towers this Friday at 4:30pm est

Dear SOCM members and supporters,

As goal-setting wraps up for members across the state, members in East Tennessee are getting ready for a Zombie invasion. This Friday, SOCM members will join with groups across the region to speak out against the Tennessee Valley Authority's proposal to invest billions in aging, zombie nuclear reactors rather than invest that money in renewable energy options for the Tennessee Valley.

Join us for a press conference and action this Friday, August 5th at 4:30pm, at the TVA Towers on Market Square to let the TVA Board know that we want renewable energy in Tennessee and investing in 40-year-old nuclear plants is not worth the risk to our communities.

Sincerely,

Your SOCM Team

Rich Henighan wins in Every Member Get a Member campaign

Congratulations go to Board Secretary Rich Henighan this month for winning the July Every Member Get a Member campaign drawing. Rich will receive the beautifully hand-crafted Llama statues from Peru pictured below.

These small wooden llama statues were hand crafted in Peru by local artisans.

Keep up the good work everyone!  Together we can build a just Tennessee with good jobs, clean water, and a sustainable environment for future generations to enjoy.

Next week's drawing item is the environmentally-friendly soda maker (no electricity needed) so keep recruiting and you could be the lucky person impressing your friends with homemade sparkling water! You can view the full list of prizes and winners by clicking here!
