SOCM has officially sprung into spring, and for these last few weeks before summer officially begins, June 1 through the 20th, you will receive a free mug when you join SOCM. If you haven't taken the plunge, join us today to help

Geissler will receive the handmade knitted scarf and pendant, donated by Olio Tree of Knoxville, Tenn. A thank-you goes to Holly Milner Boos, owner of Olio Tree for making her donation to SOCM!

Geissler is a long-time SOCM member, who donates hours of his time to fight for immigrant rights in Bedford County. Look out for a Q&A featuring Geissler in the June SOCM Sentinel!

Don't miss the premier showing of "The Last Mountain" in Nashville, Tenn.

Gather with family and friends in Nashville, Tenn., June 9, to enjoy
some popcorn and a premier showing of "The Last Mountain" at the Belcourt Theatre. Event proceeds will benefit SOCM and TNLeaf.

A passionate and personal tale that honors the extraordinary power of ordinary Americans when they fight for what they believe in, "The Last Mountain" shines a light on America's energy needs and how those needs are being supplied. It is a fight for our future that affects us all.

Chapter events pack June calendar  
Roaring River, Cumberland and Maury chapters plan spring events

Start penciling in upcoming SOCM events on your calendar; there's a lot in store this month!

The Roaring River and Cumberland Chapters have organized a summer picnic for June 18. The event will be held at Cane Creek City Park at the Lakeview picnic shelter in Cookeville and attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish to share. Maury County members are quickly planning a festive fish fry fundraiser event for June 18, as well. To become involved and donate your event-planning skills, contact Randy Knighten, randy@socm.org, or call 615.574.2116.
