English-Only Driving Exam Bill in Committee Tomorrow, March 23 Call to stop anti-immigrant legislation
Dear SOCM members and supporters,
A handful of state legislators are moving forward with their anti-immigrant agenda this week. Join us in asking legislators to focus on Tennessee voters' priorities, including training and sustainable jobs solutions for our distressed rural and urban communities. Instead, one of the major issues being considered this week is an English-Only Driving Exam Bill (SB10 by Ketron).
A couple of weeks ago we were able to push back the vote on the English-Only Driving Exam bill (SB10 by Ketron), and during the March 15 Lobby Day we met with nine legislators regarding this bill and the Arizona copycat bill. But we need to keep the pressure on! Senate Bill 10 is on the Senate Transportation Committee's calendar for Wednesday (March 23) at 1 p.m.
Please take a moment and contact members of the Senate Transportation Committee listed below, and urge them to oppose SB 10, the English-Only Driving Exam bill.
