UMKC announces record 2010 student enrollment

The University reported its largest overall enrollment this fall with more than 13,500 undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Included in this figure is a record freshman enrollment of more than 1100 students -- a 14.3 percent increase, and an increase in transfer students of 10.8 percent. Read more
  
 
UMKC School of Law receives $500,000 gift commitment
 
UMKC School of Law alumnus H. Howard Stephenson graciously recognized the school's Entrepreneurial Services Legal Clinic with a $500,000 estate gift commitment. The clinic provides legal advice and professional business planning services to small business owners. Read more

UMKC alumni and friends set new Alumni Fund records
UMKC alumni and friends showed their support for students by giving back in record numbers. This year, alumni participation -- the percentage of alumni who give to the University -- set a record of 10.23 percent. The Alumni Fund also hit a record high of $628,000 in gifts. Read more

UMKC School of Medicine and HCA Midwest partner to train medical students
The UMKC School of Medicine and HCA's Research Medical Center have signed an affiliation agreement to develop and provide joint undergraduate, post-graduate and fellowship medical training programs. The agreement also will allow the two institutions to cooperate in promoting and enhancing faculty development, education and biomedical research. Read more 
 
UMKC researcher gets National Institutes of Health grant for drug-discovery software
Gerald Wyckoff, associate professor of molecular biology and biochemistry at UMKC, received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to continue his work in getting his product -- a software program to improve drug discovery -- to market. Read more

Euronet CEO Brown, Dunns receive UMKC Bloch School awards
The UMKC Bloch School of Business and Public Administration will honor Euronet Worldwide Inc. CEO Mike Brown with the Regional Entrepreneur of the Year award, and Peggy and Terry Dunn with the Marion and John Kreamer Award for Entrepreneurship in Volunteer Community Service. The 25th annual Entrepreneur of the Year awards ceremony will be held Oct. 12 in Kansas City. Read more
