Gilliland Debuts ModSpace Paint Scheme at Texas

No. 38 Team Shows Consistency on Track, Strength on Pit Road

Statesville, N.C. (April 10, 2012) - David Gilliland  is ready to get back to racing after NASCAR's off week, returning to one of his favorite tracks with a new primary paint scheme.  The driver of the No. 38 Ford will show off the blue-and-green colors of ModSpace this week as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Fort Worth, Texas, for Saturday night's Samsung Mobile 500.  The No. 38 team is off to a good start in the 2012 season, and looks to improve on consistent performances at the high-banked, 1.5-mile track at Texas Motor Speedway.

ModSpace partners with United Rentals and Chipewyan Prairie First Nation to support the No. 38 car in Gilliland's 12th career start at the high-speed oval.  The Texas race weekend marks the first of several primary sponsorships with ModSpace on Gilliland's Ford.  The modular construction provider is also a season-long associate on both the No. 38 car and David Ragan's No. 34.

"ModSpace is very excited to be the primary sponsor alongside United Rentals of this weekend's event at Texas," said William Mann, Vice President of Motorsports for ModSpace.  "The entire ModSpace organization is very eager about seeing the debut of the No. 38 car's paint scheme this weekend.  David has experience at Texas Motor Speedway and this should produce a great outcome for the No. 38 team."

Consistency has been a theme of Gilliland's 11 career starts at Texas, where he has finished as high as 15th.  With the pit crew working well and valuable experience at this week's track, the No. 38 team is poised for another strong finish in the Lone Star State.

Comments from ModSpace driver David Gilliland on Texas Motor Speedway:

"Texas is always a fun place to race.  There's room to pass up high if you have to since the groove has gotten wider over the years.  The track really feels fast and there's a lot of room to run around.  With a good car there's a lot of opportunity to make things happen.

"It's great to have ModSpace on board this year.  They've been on our car all season so far, but this is the first race where they're primary.  So, it will be cool to finally run their paint scheme.  We've been showing it off since we first announced the partnership earlier in the season but it will be cool to finally see it on the car and under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway.

"Martinsville may not have looked like the best run, but I was really proud of the effort by our team. Pat (crew chief Pat Tryson) and the guys worked hard on the car all day and they really helped us out in a few places where we couldn't gain any spots on track.  I'm excited to get into Texas after the week off.  We've got a great car and we've run well there in the past so I'm really looking forward to it.

"Last year we had a bit of bad luck there and just couldn't get anything going, but it's a fun track and I feel like we can run well there.  I'm confident in the car we've got right now and the team's been great the past few weeks so I think we're in a good position to put a solid run together this weekend."
