Front Row Motorsports headed to New England this week, as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races the flat track of New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

J.J. Yeley laid down his first laps in the Long John Silver's Ford during Friday's practice session, getting comfortable in the car and finding decent speed.  David Gilliland and his No. 34 team also made good progress in their Ford Fusion, posting faster speeds as the practice went on.

Both Front Row cars had early slots for the mid-afternoon qualifying session, which opened up under sunny skies -- unlike the morning's practice, which wrapped up under cloud cover and a few stray raindrops.  The hotter conditions made for a little less grip, but the Front Row entries still ran solid laps.  Gilliland and Yeley qualified in the same positions as their car numbers -- 34th and 38th, respectively.

Ryan Newman set a track record in earning the pole with a lap time of 28.16 seconds and a speed of 135.232 miles per hour.  His car owner and teammate, Tony Stewart, will start alongside him in the front row.  Tony Raines, Scott Riggs and Dennis Setzer failed to qualify for the race.

The teams have two practice sessions scheduled for Saturday so they can work on improving their cars in race trim for Sunday's 318-mile event.  TNT will carry Sunday's Lenox Industrial Tools 301, with coverage beginning at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Comments from No. 34 Ford team driver David Gilliland after qualifying at Loudon:

"I lost a little time in Turns 3 and 4.  I was a little tight.  The sun's been out now, and at the end of practice earlier it was pretty cool.  But overall we're happy with our speed.  We backed up what we did in practice even though the track was a little hotter and we lost a little grip. But a good day overall.  Now we've got tomorrow's practice time to make our car even better."

Comments from No. 38 Long John Silver's Ford team driver J.J. Yeley after qualifying at Loudon:

"It was a pretty good day. We had some good speed earlier in practice right off the blocks.  We were the fastest of the go-or-go-homers.  So we just stayed within our box.  We didn't make any wholesale changes and the car ran well the entire time.  We were just fighting tight in the center a little.

"We had about the same balance in qualifying that we did in practice.  I got a little bit high off of Turn 4 from being too tight, and that cost us a little time.  But we're solidly in the field, which is the most important thing, and we've got two practices on Saturday to play with some set-ups.  For being my first time with the team, I think the day went very well."
