Kentucky Speedway welcomes the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for an inaugural visit this weekend for the 18th race of the 2011 season.  Front Row Motorsports drivers are not strangers to the 1.5-mile oval, though. Travis Kvapil has raced at Kentucky in a Camping World Truck Series ride and David Gilliland owns a much-celebrated, 2006 Cinderalla win in the Nationwide Series.

The weekend started off with a one-day test session Thursday to allow teams to acclimate their Cup rides to the bumpy tri-oval for the first time.  Kvapil and the No. 38 Long John Silver's team found good speed in the first session, finishing third fastest.  The No. 34 Taco Bell team did not register an official lap time on track, with Gilliland scraping the wall on his first lap, forcing the team to move to a back-up car.

Kentucky rain played a big role in Friday's on-track schedule.  Showers erased the first practice session, but both cars got on track for the second, giving Gilliland's team limited time to get their new car dialed in and Kvapil's team to tweak theirs.  Late-afternoon qualifying opened under sunny skies, but more rain moved in when about half the cars had turned their laps and NASCAR was forced to cancel the session.  Saturday night's starting grid was set according to the rule book, based on speeds from the first practice.  Gilliland will start 35th and Kvapil will start 37th.

All the action of the Quaker State 400 will air on TNT, with coverage beginning Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
