Eliot Fall Fair - October 23
9:30 am - 3:00 pm
We need you to help make this annual event both fun and profitable! Items for the Flea Market may be brought to Fellowship Hall backstage beginning Friday, October 1. No clothes, computers or large pieces of furniture, please. Books and Media may be brought to Sanctuary Narthex (the space inside the front entrance from Centre Street). Pie Baking will be taking place in the Eliot kitchen on Saturday morning, September 25, at 8:30 under the able direction of Josephine McNeil. This year we'll be making both plum and apple pies. So, get out your rolling pin and join the fun! Homemade goodies are always good sellers and the more we have the better. This includes not only baked goods, but anything homemade such as jams, beans, pickles, etc. Cafe Donations - In order to maximize profit in the cafe, we are again asking members of the congregation to donate items such as hot dogs, rolls, soda, cider and water. Sign up during coffee hour or contact Susan Nason at nasonse@aol.com or 617-965-1811. HELP is needed especially with sorting and pricing Flea Market items during the week before the Fair, set up on Friday, October 23, staffing all activities on the day of the fair, and clean-up at the end of the day. Even if you're going to be out of town on Fair Day, there are many ways that you can help ahead of time!! Questions or suggestions? Contact Liz Thurston or

This weekend, our IT professional Jeff Page is riding his bicycle in the Harbor to the Bay benefit ride for AIDS research. If you wish, you can support H2B's important work by making a contribution of any amount at:
He is doing the 65 mile "baby ride" from the Sagamore Bridge to Provincetown. In Jeff's words, "I chose it because the website said there are 'fewer hills.' We'll see whether the web guru at H2B has a sense of humor. And, if you would prefer to commemorate my ride by drinking a bottle of Gatorade, that would be fine with me (I think H2B prefers cash, however). Contributions of whatever kind are welcome!"
