Hi  !

If you have finished paying your pledge, thank you!  You are helping Eliot pay the bills.  If you haven't, please complete your pledges soon.  The deadline, June 30th, is just a couple of weeks away!  Thank you.

ITF Initiatives

A kind of strange thing happened Sunday and it wasn't the crazy storms from above.  I looked at the sign up sheets, located in the hallway, for getting involved in the Implemenation Task Force initiatives and they were empty.

At the Congregational Meeting there were so many Eliot members who wanted to get involved in moving Eliot to a better place, and we were hoping to capture that spirit by including them on the sign up sheets.  It would be a shame if only a few people were involved in making the decisions that the whole of Eliot is affected by.  So remember to look over the 7 strategic initiatives and find yourself in one.

Then contact Susan Jeghelian and let her know that you will become involved in the action.  She would like to finalize the action plans and teams working on them by the end of June!

Thanks for all you do for Eliot Church.  Let's keep Rowing in the Same Direction!

Yours in Faith,

Lisa Hines, Moderator

This Sunday, June 13

Children's Music Sunday

Please join the children of Eliot in their enthusiastic rendition of the well known jazz church musical, 100% Chance of Rain by Walter Horsley. This joyful story about Noah and his Ark will be celebrated at the 10am worship service.

Food Collection
At the May meeting of the Newton Clergy Association, we were reminded that during the summer months, when attendance drops at houses of worship around the city, the amount of food contributed for our local food pantries also drops - but the requests for food by families in need does not. Therefore, we are encouraging a combined, interfaith effort for every Newton congregation to hold a "food collection drive" during June, to help stock the pantries for the summer. At Eliot, we especially encourage you to bring a bag or box of food with you to worship on June 13. Non-perishable canned or dry food only, please. Thank you if you have brought a donation today. Thank you - Pastor Tony.

A Note from Martha Totten

Norman and I want to thank all of you for your prayers for my speedy recovery, as well as for all of your warm wishes through cards, phone calls, visits, and culinary thoughtfulness. These have all been "wonderful tonic", and I am definitely on the mend and hope to see all of you soon at Eliot. Again, thank you. Fondly, Martha
