2012 ADDYs Banquet
Students break the Creative Center's
Internal Record for Most ADDYs Won

On February 4, faculty, staff and 2012 ADDYs Judge's Citation Winnersstudents gathered at the Hilton Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska to learn the judges' decisions on the 2012 student ADDY entries. Final verdict: of the 76 student ADDYs bestowed, Creative Center students won 36 - just missing half of the total awards, and destroying the previous Creative Center internal record of most ADDYs in one year. It just goes to show that our students continue to be AWESOME!

Phenomblue produces cutting-edge interactive and long-term technology partnership solutions for some of the biggest advertising agencies and consumer brands in the world.

What does the graduate do?
I do a wide variety of things from web/mobile/app design to creative concepting for future and current technologies.

Clients:
Micromet, Bellevue University, American Greetings, Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Mutual of Omaha, and McDonalds, among many others.

Comments: One of the projects I worked on was I Smell Brains, a mobile game, which was featured on FWA mobile of the day.

From the Director
I would like to personally congratulate all of the Creative Center students who won ADDYs this year. You've shown that you have a good handle on this field and its expectations.

I also want to acknowledge all the students who didn't win. While awards are a convenient way to promote yourself and your work, they are just as subjective as the rest of this crazy industry that we love. I know all of our students work their brains blurry to get themselves ready for the end of the year (and job hunting), and I want to encourage ALL our students to be persistent and to have faith in yourself and what you have learned. We know the best award for all our students is securing a creative career after graduation!

Keep in mind that our next Open House will be on Saturday, March 17 from 11am-3pm. High school seniors, let us know if you are interested in pursuing a career in graphic design and advertising. Classes for next year start on August 6, 2012.

Sincerely,
