Creative Center Students Travel to Kansas City
Spring is in the air, and with Spring comes ... Kansas City! The first-year students once again left early in the morning on a chartered bus to spend an exciting day in Kansas City visiting Barkley, the largest employee-owned advertising agency in the U.S., and also the Nelson-Atkins Museum, which is recognized nationally and internationally as one of America's finest art museums.
Barkley representatives were kind enough to meet with our students, giving tours of the agency and insights into the process of coming up with new ideas. After lunch, students then were able to tour the Nelson-Atkins art museum and view artwork that they may have only previously seen in print or on screen.
The yearly Kansas City trip makes for a long day, but is widely regarded as one of the most enjoyable events of the students' time here.

From the Director
I've decided that snow in March is just mean. Good thing there is green in my garden to keep my spirits up! Here on campus, our students are returning from Spring Break with renewed energy and motivation. Since we only have six weeks of classes left until summer break, spirits are high! Art Teachers and Guidance Counselors, our Professional Development seminar this summer is a great opportunity to gain tips on incorporating advertising and design projects into your curriculum! For those of you in your senior year of high school, let us know if you are interested in pursuing a career in graphic design and advertising. Fall classes start on August 8, 2011.
