Computers 2011

Computer Fever is Here!

It's always unusual when students are disappointed to have a snow day! Since the first day back from the holidays ended up being canceled, students had to wait until Tuesday to receive their brand new MacBook Pros. Not to worry, though, we disbursed all the computers and loaded software in record time, and now our first-year students can be just as obsessed with their laptops as the rest of our students. Did I say "obsessed?" I meant "diligent in their pursuit of computer knowledge..."

Justin Bryant
Winner!
Congratulations to Justin Bryant, who won not one but both of the book cover competitions sponsored by NSLP (National Student Loan Program). Justin's covers will be printed and used by the NSLP for these publications - not to mention the cash prize he received.

Way to go, Justin!

One of the challenges of being a graphic designer is incorporating fine art. Second-year students are charged with creating an original piece of fine art that will be used for the cover of an existing magazine of their choice.

From the Director

Welcome Back! Quite the exciting start to the new year, with a snow day and freezing temperatures to wake us
up in the morning.

Special congratulations go to Justin Bryant for his great work for the NSLP competition. Next month, I will be excited to report on our students' achievements in the
ADDY competition.

Keep in mind that our next Open House will be on Saturday, March 19 from 11am-3pm. For those of you in your senior year of high school, let us know if you are interested in pursuing a career in graphic design and advertising. Classes for next year start on August 8, 2011.
