Principal Scott Williams |
Over the last several years, enrollment at Christian Fellowship School has steadily increased and more people in the community are aware of the school. However, we recognize that many Christian families in Columbia remain unfamiliar with the value of Christian education and are unaware of the opportunities available to their children at CFS. For the cause of Christ and for our community's future, we want to become more visible and better known in our community. We also want to develop additional ways of financially supporting program improvements and facility expansions without raising tuition levels beyond affordable levels.
Therefore, CFS is currently seeking candidates for a new position: Director of Development and Marketing. Please feel free to contact me if you are aware of someone who may be interested in this position. The person in this full-time position will be responsible for such activities as:
- Overseeing school-wide communications with current CFS families
- Developing alumni connections
- Developing and implementing marketing and advertising strategies
- Establishing and implementing an ongoing development plan for different levels of fundraising
- Developing and maintaining relationships with CFS financial supporters
- Coordinating special marketing and fundraising events for CFS families, alumni, and supporters
The person in this position will be a very visible representative of CFS, so they must have a clear Christian testimony and outstanding character. They must also have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate the mission of Christian education and CFS in writing and by speaking to individuals and groups. Training and experience in advertising and marketing will be beneficial. Interested candidates should contact CFS Principal, Scott Williams, at office@cfsknights.org or call 445-8565.

Jesus Day

In Bible class, the first grade learned about the life and times of Jesus when He lived on the earth. They discussed the kind of school that Jesus may have gone to. They learned about the customs, transportation, food, clothing, and fun times that children would have participated in. To culminate the unit, first grade dressed up in Jesus' day clothing, made a carpenter project, ate Bible food, and did some Jewish dancing. We decided that Bible times were fun too.

National Honor Society Volunteers
at the Food Bank
On a recent Saturday morning, members of the CFS Chapter of the National Honor Society volunteered at the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri. After a tour of their recently expanded facilities, the students helped pack close to 500 "Buddy Packs." "Buddy Packs" is a recent Food Bank program which provides an elementary aged child enough food for two meals and several snacks. Participants pick up their packs at school on Friday of each week. The Food Bank is currently distributing 7,800 packs in 32 counties each week.

New Basketball Goals
The basketball goals were recently reupholstered by two local businesses, See's Auto Upholstery and Sonshine Graphics. These goals were purchased with donations from the Senior Class of 2010 and the Senior Class of 2011.

Eliyah was chosen as one of the top 3 finalists. She was honored with the award at a banquet on February 21st. Despite being diagnosed with epilepsy, Eliyah participates in swimming, basketball and softball. Eliyah proved that a serious illness could not stop her from playing sports and in the process inspired others with illnesses or disabilities to participate.
