Don't Miss the Beverly Hillbillies!

BevHillsBWThe classic American comedy about a hillbilly family going from rags to riches will be presented on stage by the CFS High School Drama Team on November 19th and 20th.  Come sit a spell with Jed, Jethro, Granny, Ellie Mae, and all the characters that make the Beverly Hillbillies more fun than anyone deserves.  Appropriate for all ages, tickets are $4.00 for everyone age 10 and older.  Younger children are free.  The early start time of 6:30 pm is set to accommodate families with children, as the show will be at least two hours in length with an intermission.

CFS Is Making a Difference
The Central Missouri Food Bank is planning to recognize CFS with a plaque for participating in the annual "Make a Difference Day" food drive.  CFS contributed more food per student than any other private school in a 35 county area.  CFS students and families donated 704 pounds of food as part of the 39,660 pounds of food and $7,300 that was collected from all of the participating schools. The food and monetary donations will allow the food bank to provide and distribute 68,822 pounds of food, providing a total of over 51,746 meals to our neighbors in need.  A big "thank you" goes to the students, parents, and staff of CFS for their wonderful generosity.

Student Highlights and Activities
BevHillMembers of the CFS Chapter of the National Honor Society went to the Central Missouri Food Bank on November 6th for their fall community service project. The sixteen CFS students helped repackage approximately 5,000 pounds of pasta. This is the fourth semester our NHS chapter has volunteered at the Food Bank and helped to repackage food.

The CFS Varsity Soccer Team participated in the National Association of Christian Athletics Tournament in Dayton, TN, November 4 - 6.  Playing teams from Alabama, North Carolina, and Virginia, the Knights proved their defensive prowess by never allowing more than one goal in any of their five games.  Unfortunately, the Knights were also unable to score much, so they ended with a 1-3-1 record for the tournament.  Caleb McDaniel was selected to the All Tournament Team.

The CFS Junior High Choir will perform at the West Boadway Wal-Mart at 5:30 pm on November 24 as part of the Central Missouri Food Bank's "Partnership Against Hunger" event.  The choir will be joined by members of the Olivet Christian Church Choir.  Mrs. Eileen Sharp will direct the choirs .
