CEO Council Activity
Manufacturing Internship Program Starting Summer 2012
The CAMPS CEO Council has rolled out the first of its kind "Manufacturing Internship Program"
How and why did this program come about? CAMPS continues to hear from our members, their challenge to fill critical skilled positions. So we will continue to explore opportunities for strategic partnerships with workforce and education programs to assist the efforts to find qualified applicants. This effort includes building a skilled workforce by also educating on-site in your company culture. The FIRST Robotics students were identified as a group the council not only had direct access to but were eager to learn more about Advanced Manufacturing. Read More |

CAMPS Members in the News
Seattle Magazines Manufacturing Awards
CAMPS was well represented with over 50 attendees either being CAMPS members or associates of or family members. This was a family affair with all supporters of the award recipients on hand. It was a humbling experience for CAMPS staff to witness the member companies being recognize for their expertise and success. We all know this has been a challenging 3 1/2 years and we are not out of the woods quite yet. But because of companies like Red Dot, CIMTech and Orion Industries and their leadership, this state can be confident these manufacturers and many others like them are digging out and will rise to the top. Once there, they will graciously share their knowledge in whatever way they can. This is the CAMPS culture. This is how success overcomes challenges. Yes it was a proud moment for not only those very deserving companies but also for CAMPS.
Let us say warmly CONGRATULATIONS! |

M2M Graduates say "Thanks"
Testimonials speak to program success
To CAMPS,
I just wanted to express my appreciation for the opportunity in participating at the JBLM M2M class, the help I received and the better confidence I have in knowing how to handle myself in the chance of an interview. I probably haven't sent you this before so in case I haven't, I'm doing it now.
It was interesting in seeing how the manufacturing world is through the videos and it gives an inside look at what to expect before you want to think about if it's for you or not. I know there are things that I still need to work on but it's nothing that I can't get help with from companies who are willing to take a chance on me.
Being a vet, I've acquired numerous trade skills since being in civilian life and didn't know how valuable they are to other companies until I went to the M2M class. It gave me an idea of how I can utilize them better and more now that I'm in the position to find a better job. Along with what I learned in the military, I can "broaden my horizons" so to speak and venture on to bigger and better things.
So thank you for giving me this opportunity and the emails letting me know when the "round tables", tours, etc. are so I can see what other companies I may be interested in. The whole staff that puts on these events, classes & tours are absolutely top notch in my opinion with the willingness & friendliness to help others (people like me who are in a trying time financially, among other things, to have a chance at being able to attend).
Please tell all who was involved and continues to do so they're the best and give them my thanks as well.
