Greetings!
Welcome to the second e-mail version of The Agnon Agenda, part of our continued effort to "go green." Instead of periodically mailing this newsletter, we will be sending it to you as an e-mail that you can forward to grandparents, other family members and friends. This edition will focus on the school year in review. Please note: Agnon's new electronic e-mail newsletter contains several pictures. If your e-mail software prevents you from viewing them, add kpeskin@agnon.org to your e-mail software's address book or "safe sender list." Alternately, click here to view the e-mail as a webpage.

Dads & Kids Camp-In at Agnon
Agnon students and their dads (or special persons) gathered for a camp-in the evening of March 21.
At a "campsite" in the Agnon auditorium, kids and dads spent the night playing games, sharing Havdalah and eating pizza. On Sunday morning, Agnon moms delivered breakfast to all campers.
A special thanks to Agnon dad Scott Simon, Chair, as well as
Moty Avisar, Brian Caron, Zach Glazer and David Thomas who helped to organize
this fun program.

8th Grade Ethiopian Mitzvah Project
Before leaving on their class trip to Israel in April, Agnon 8th graders participated in an amazing mitzvah project to help Israel's Ethiopian population, since many Ethiopian families live below the poverty level there. Because travelers are not allowed to transport any items they did not pack themselves, each student filled a duffle bag with loads of new clothes donated to Ethiopian children in need.
Since international travelers can take two suitcases at no additional charge, everyone boarded the plane after checking in one of their own suitcases as well as one duffle bag of new children's clothes.
Packing and traveling with the hundreds of donated items not only saved an exorbitant amount in postage fees, it also added significance to an already meaningful journey to Israel.

"Pause ... The Musical" Sends Important Message
Focusing on the importance of becoming a mensch, 25 Agnon students in Kindergarten - 5th grade recently performed in their own original musical theater production called "Pause...The Musical" for family and friends at The Agnon School.
This play, created under the direction of Adina Bloom Lewkowicz, Agnon's Social-Emotional Learning and Drama Specialist, stressed the idea of pausing to think before making a decision in order to achieve the best possible outcome.
This production also reinforced one of Agnon's core values - manhigut or leadership - which strives to infuse the student experience with leadership opportunities, both individual and collective.
