| Gardening Tips for May | |
" Transplants become less stressed when they are set out on a cloudy, calm day. Unfortunately, gardeners
may need to transplant when they have the time, regardless of the weather. Strong sun and wind are hard on new transplants, so set out plants in the late afternoon when the wind calms down and the plants have overnight to acclimate. Provide shade and wind protection with berry baskets, small crates, or screens. Mulching helps since it lowers the rate at which water evaporates from the soil and controls the soil temperature." Imagine a world where you and family/friends, or just even yourself, could escape to a lush garden with breathtaking views and tranquil pools of still waters. This evergreen oasis, just a few minutes from Wenatchee, showcases rare native plants and has thrived over 80 years of history. A man-made paradise, the Gardens were built by a family who had a passion for the beauty of the outdoor world. Sit on stone benches and listen to trees sway in the wind, observe flowers of every color, be still and silent away from the chaos of everyday life.
