A school's merit is not justified by the fame of its teachers; rather it is defined by the success of its students.

If you'd like to share an upcoming event, celebration,  etc.  with the  greater PDT community or if you'd like to make a comment, please direct communications to Amy at:

Greetings!

We have so much to be thankful for this holiday season - most importantly you, our students, families and friends.  We wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday season!

DanceVision's The Nutcracker was splendid this year.  The first snow fall of the year began just before "curtain up" of the matinee adding to the festive spirit of this beautiful production. Thank you to all the dancers, staff and volunteers who made The Nutcracker a wonderful presentation, and thank you to all audience members who came out in the slush and supported the show.  It would not be possible without you!

Please remember PDT will not have registered classes December 22nd - January 3rd. There will be open ballet classes as noted below and we look forward to seeing many current and former students in class.

When you have time this holiday season, please forward, share, post and comment on the two-part YouTube Documentary celebrating PDT and DanceVision.  Thanks very much to Jamie Watson  at Persistence of Vision, for his talent, time and contribution to the arts.  He captured the essence of our vision in stunning visual montages and narrative.

With warm wishes,
Risa Kaplowitz & Susan Jaffe

Deepest Gratitude
ElicaPDT expresses a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to the Elica Suzuki Scholarship fund by purchasing a Believe in Ballerinas bracelet and supporting Tracey Johnson, who ran in the Philadelpha Marathon. Over $800 was raised.

This fund has supported several PDT students this year who otherwise would not be able to afford lessons.  Thanks for making a difference!

Students in Publication

In the Nov. 2009 issue of Dance Teacher Magazine, there is a picture of one the dances that PDT graduate, Anne Lukowiak,  choreographed last spring. It's on the Table of Contents page, and is the picture of three girls with a piece of yellow fabric. The article is about dance lighting and the TCU lighting designer is interviewed.

"I was surprised to see the picture of my dance and my lighting in the magazine and thought you'd like to know!"
~Anne Lukowiak
