Meet Ben   

Greetings!, 

There's a growing group of people volunteering their time and expertise to launch the mission of CSP forward. And we're always looking for more. Read Ben Jones' reflections on volunteering with CSP and scroll to the bottom for simple ways you can be further involved.

Meet Ben Jones. Originally from Washington, Ben has decided to move down to California to volunteer his time with CSP for a couple months.

Ben has been a supporter of CSP for a while, but two years ago was offered to deepen his involvement by using his considerable outdoorsman experience to plan our annual backpacking trip for our university student leader training. Now with two trips under his belt, Ben is ready for more.

Read the Q and A below to get to know Ben and pray for him during this new adventure.

What was your highlight of the Student Leader backpacking trip a 

couple weeks ago? A highlight for me was seeing the student leaders be proactive, stepping up to lead the trip. I was impressed by how they shared the responsibility of carrying extra gear and set up camp even before I got there! It's a really strong team and it was cool to watch relationships form. Personally, I really enjoyed getting the know the team.

What brings you down from your homestate to volunteer with CSP?

I think CSP's vision and mission are definitely something that the state of California will benefit from, and their approach is effective and needed. The way CSP builds up leaders is great, always challenging and growing people. This is a time when I'm available, and giving back to CSP is something I want to do.

What projects will you be working on? I am going to help with a few upcoming events like the Fall Training Retreat and the Fall Fundraiser Banquets. I'm also going to help organize an outing for the men in CSP.

How can we as the CSP community be praying for you this fall? Pray for wisdom to know the right approach to the new tasks, to be able to integrate the vision of CSP into what I'm doing. Pray that I'd find a free place to live while in town. Pray that this would be a time of growth in the Lord, that I can see these projects to fruition, and that they'd be received well.
