Story of the Week

Elezabeth's Story Continued

Greetings!,

Do you remember Elezabeth from the Concord HomeTown trip from this past January? If you look back in your emails you will find a Story of the Week that features Elezabeth, a senior Bible club president from Concord High School. The Concord HomeTown team helped Elezabeth and her Bible club host outreach events and witness after school for one week in January.

Elezabeth, Senior at Concord High

A few months after the trip, Elezabeth contacted CSP and excitedly shared about specific seeds which had been planted on the trip are now flourishing. Here is a story about God using one student to lead her peers to Jesus.

"Elezabeth, look over there, she's reading the gospel of John booklet", remarked Bethany, a CSP staff member, while witnessing at Concord High one January afternoon.

Elezabeth and Bethany had just finished witnessing to a young Peruvian girl, Jocelyn,  who had recently immigrated to the United States. Although Jocelyn did not want to have a conversation about Christ that day, she gladly accepted a Gospel of John booklet and read it after school while she waited for her ride.

Elezabeth continued to see Jocelyn around campus over the next few months. Elezabeth said, "...After witnessing to her, Christ was filling her up with a desire for Him. I would see her at lunch and she would want to sit next to me and talk to me and ask me questions about the Gospels and Jesus' role in one's life."

Five months after Elezabeth and Bethany had witnessed to her, Elezabeth had an opportunity to engage in conversation once again. She explained "One day [in May], the Holy Sprit impressed within me and told me 'Now is the time, go lead her to me'. I asked Jocelyn to come to a classroom and have lunch together. She said yes, and I told her about Jesus, about His loving heart and His ultimate sacrifice of His only son so that we might live."

Elezabeth continued, "I asked her if she wanted to give her life to Jesus. She said yes! I came closer to her, held her hands and led her to salvation. She gave me her number and now she is going to come to my church and youth group! Her walk in Christ is developing and she is already praying daily and reading the Word."

She reflected, "I am really excited for this seed that has flourished and have already led 2 other people to Christ...God is so Good."

Witnessing at Concord High the day Elezabeth met Jocelyn
We praise God that Elezabeth has faithfully followed up with students and peers who still need to hear about Jesus. Please join us in prayer for Jocelyn as a new believer. Please pray for Elezabeth as she graduates from Concord High and plans on attending Biola University. We rejoice in Elezabeth's desire to continue to work with CSP when she arrives in the fall!
