After being a member of Roosevelt High School's Bible club for four years, Abigail Zambrana went on to Syracuse University in New York, bringing her zeal for active outreach with her in her involvement with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru).
Abigail came to know Christ in her sophomore year of high school through exposure to the Bible club. She stepped up to serve as vice president of the club in her junior and senior years and worked closely with advisor Sal Quezada and CSP Biola mentors.
"I always found it to be very helpful just to have someone older - to have college students just to talk to about God. It was a good experience, we talked a lot about how we were going to do outreach and reach people on our campus," Abigail said. "I learned a lot about outreach and how to talk to people when they are non-believers."
Transitioning from Roosevelt's active Bible club to Syracuse where outreach has been less active in recent years, Abigail encouraged fellow students in Cru to get excited about witnessing and reaching the community around them.
As a result of her efforts, "They felt that I should be the one in charge of outreach for the next school year," Abigail said.
This past Spring semester the group at Syracuse has put on outreach events similar to what we see in CSP outreach events with Christian rappers and performers sharing their faith.
Pray for Cru at Syracuse University next semester and for Abigail as she takes charge of outreach planning!
